Sorry for the delay in this weeks post. I had hoped to get it out earlier, but the power went out.
This Saturday at the Market, Eric will have broccoli, chard, potatoes, garlic, green onions, romaine, basil, beets, escarole, collards, cabbage, kohlrabi, chicken feet, stew hens, whole chickens and eggs.
I don’t have to tell you anything you don’t know. Summer is here. It’s hot. We try to limit our complaining about the heat here at Salt Fork Farms, well, because it’s summer, which is hot.
I’ve been meaning to share this with you for a while, Eric took on a new project in June. He decided to foodscape our house. This meant pulling out most of the ornamental landscaping around our house and replacing every bit with edible foliage. The bed along side our house is now our herb garden, and the big bushes that were in front of our house have been replaced with sunflowers. As Eric started this project our super great employee, Annie, put up a small protest. Annie was very concerned about my input on this matter. At one point she stopped Eric to make sure I was 100% okay with this decision. I think it turned out great. I also added of few photos of the gardens. They are really blooming right now.
Have a great rest of your holiday week. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
